Village Nalbandian   is located in the Armavir province of the Republic of Armenia. Resident of the village of Aysere Isayan made a short sketch about the life of the Yezidis in Nalbandianе. The village of  Nalbandian is named Mikael Lazarevich Nalbandian, Armenian writer, poet, literary critic, publicist, philosopher, revolutionary Democrat.  The village is a mixed Armenian-Yazidi village with more than 150 Yazidi families living in it, and currently there are 112 families left. The total population is more than 900 families.

Note that, Ayser Isan is the head of the NGO "For human well-being, humanitarian and economic development", which is at issue not only yazidi people, and all minorities living in Armenia. This organization raised a number of questions about the problems of the Yazidi community in Armenia.

According to Ayser Isayan, and yezidis first settled here around 1947 .

The villagers are вmainly engaged in agriculture.: they are engaged in fruit growing, viticulture, vegetable growing, and animal husbandry. They also grow reed crops of geraniums, which are used in the production of essential oils.

What is the structure of education, how do children learn, and are thereьany graduates who continue their studies after school?

There is a secondary school in the village. Yazidi children show a high level, with many excellent students with Redi. Both boys and girls continue their studies after school. Ayser Isayan: "Our nation, which is currently fighting for survival, should take the path of learning, because today a literate person can correctly declare problems, and solve these problems. An illiterate person will not be taken seriously. In my opinion, this is how we will be able to preserve our ethnic identity, thanks to the trained and literate generation M.

The issue of training the next generation should be on the agenda. We need education like air and water. And I encourage all parents to give the opportunity and educate their children».

At the school, the native Yazidi language is taught, and for two lessons a week, children learn their native Yazidi language.

There were a lot of people in our village.  For example, Hashanah Aslanyan, worked as the head of a farm of the state farm. Brothers Rashid and Tosn Asoyan worked in the village municipality. Hayser Isayan, 9 years old, worked as a financial agent in the village administration. Boris Isayan, is the President of the national Union Yazidi branch and the Armavir region.  Aziz Isayan, worked as an agronomist in the village. Two of our compatriots were also members of the village's Council of elders for many years.

In the village, Yazidis mostly speak their native language.

It should be noted that the villagers adhere very strongly to national traditions. All national holidays are celebrated as they should be, according to the calendar and exactly

We asked several questions that are very widely discussed in the Yazidi community.

We asked Ayser Isayan: «Among the population of the village there are still customs, such as marriages between close relatives or earlier marriages of girls?

Ayser Isayan: «As they say, there is no meat without bones. As in other Nations, so in our own, there are mistakes. Unfortunately, this type of marriage is rare, but it is present in our country. I consider this an incurable disease of our people. We have been living in a democratic country for a long time, and we have not yet recovered from this disease of giving out minor children in marriage.

For example, it was said in public thatзwhen Russian girls put 16 years old become "old maid", this very much angered  some representatives of our people . I know many cases of early marriage with a sad outcome, when after marriage the girl could not give birth or become pregnant. A girl should be physically and mentally ready for marriage. I have visited a couple of times a family where am a daughter-in-law who is already a mother in the house of a minor. Iаnoticed how she plays with the child’s toys, missing her toys. This is because parents did not give the opportunity to play with toys in their own time.

18 years old, the girl should turn in the father's house, after which you can already think about marriage. I plan to raise the issue of punishing parents who give out their minor daughter in marriage, in the form of imprisonment for at least five years. When several parents go to jail for this, others will understand, that it is unacceptable and soberly evaluate this mistake. In the same way , the problem with families who intend to Woo an imperfect young girl will be solved.

In addition to this problem, there is another serious problem. This is a photo or video marriage, where the parents come to the house of the future bride without their son, showing only a photo of the son. And often parents foolishly pass off their daughters to a person who has not been seen in person, having only formal information. Which in most cases leads to a sad outcome of events. Often girls remain deceived, and when they come to the husband's house, they realize that this is not the same person who was in the photo or the husband has another civil family. There were still cases when the groom was non-traditional orientation and parents were forced to bring their daughter-in-law with the hope of correcting their son, and thus ruin the girl's life. Already a minor girl, by mistake of parents becomes divorced and the chance that an undisclosed man will take her to wife is very small.

As for marriages between relatives, this is also a kind of disease. No matter how ,many people say that cousins on the mother's side are distant in blood , this is a lie. Supposedly, sisters or brothers on the father's side are only considered blood. This is a sin, I believe, and a great one. We need to stop this madness».

-What social problems are present in the village?

-In our village, there are no such global problems concerning the population. All the necessary work has been done. The village is supplied with natural gas, almost throughout the village there is a night consecration, the roads are in normal condition, in a word, everything is good. There is a period of time when there is a problem of wateringаthe fields, but fortunately in a short time this problem is solved itself.

-Are there any private investments, and in what sphere are they being invested?

Ayser Isayan:"In the 80 years of the last century, a large club for events was built in the village. It was not repaired until 2012. The roof of the club was on the verge of collapse .In the memory of the head of the late dobro statesman Mirze Choloand with the help of other dobroдеstatesmen, Aslanyan, take Melis Lazgiany, Zadoe pir and Telman from the city of Ivanovo, in General, they collected 60,000 us dollars and donated to repair the roof of the club.

Armen and Perche Nalbandyan have renovated a local school and are building 14 residential houses for poor families who are in a difficult situation.».

-How does your village differ from its neighbors?

Ayser Isayan: "The village is quite large, and it has a post office, a school, a kindergarten, a music school, a sports school, and an outpatient clinic.

During the Soviet era, the village had several factories, 12 collective farms, a Park, and large glass greenhouses... but after the collapse of the state, all this was closed for various reasons, and today it does not work.

People from neighboring villages send their children to our school, because there are high schools there, there is no kindergarten in the neighboring villages, etc.

-To what extent will it be possible for the Yazidi community in Armenia to preserve its language and cultureе?

Ayser Isayan:"Long enough, if we can create a quick response group in each tree. So, to speak, groups that at the right moment at the right time will be able to help their compatriots. This way we will be able to prevent misunderstandings in the community. We need to be United and not make mistakes. Everything is in our hands, if everyone in turn adheres to good customs, their own culture and traditions, then fora long time it will be possible to preserve all this. Fortunately, the language holds up quite well. And culture is based on language.
